The Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) team was dispatched at 3 a.m. this morning to assist the RCMP in searching for an 81-year-old man with dementia.
The male, who lives around the Glen Meadow Rd. area of Glenmore, walked away from his home at 1 a.m. Friday.
After an initial search of the area, the RCMP requested the assistance of COSAR to start conducting an urban search of the neighbourhoods around his home. COSAR attended with a search team of seven members.
As COSAR was being deployed, the male was located by the RCMP about 4km away, walking along Clement Ave.
He was returned to his home, where he was checked out by the BC Ambulance service and found to be in good health.
