The Kelowna/Kamloops fire region had no major incidents this Victoria Day long weekend, and that could be thanks to the rain.
Erin Catherall with the Provincial Wildfire Coordination Centre said there were no issues with camp fires or cigarette fires as of Monday afternoon, although final reports from regional wardens had not yet been submitted.
"We had a very quiet long weekend," she said. "I think the rain helped with that."
Residents and tourists are reminded to be mindful of dry conditions, there are partial fire bans in selected areas of the province.
