Collision sends 3 to hospital

Three people were taken to hospital Thursday evening, following a three vehicle collision.

According to Cst. Paul Mlait a black BMW turning left from Clement onto Clifton was hit partially head-on by another vehicle traveling towards downtown on Clement.

“The vehicle heading towards the lake bounced off the BMW and hit another vehicle that was in the left turning lane on Clifton.”

The male driver of the BMW and his female passenger were both taken to hospital with unknown injuries, although Mlait says the woman’s injuries appeared to be more severe.

The female driver of the vehicle headed towards downtown was taken to hospital, her child, who was in a car seat in the back of the vehicle was released by BC Ambulance to the father, who showed up after the accident.

The driver of the vehicle turning left off of Clifton did not go to hospital.

Mlait says the driver of the black BMW will be given a ticket for failing to yield.

Traffic had to be diverted around both Clifton and Clement for sometime.
