Child porn trial going ahead

A former Peachland journalist charged with possessing child pornography will be going to trial.

David Andrew Preston did not appear in court Thursday.

His lawyer Wade Jenson entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf.

Preston was charged last year with three counts related to child porn, but police have said there is no evidence that any local children were directly victimized.

Counsel anticipates the trial will last for two days, and both parties will be back in court next week to set a trial date.

The Crown has said they will call upwards of a dozen witnesses, most of them officers with the RCMP.
