Bleeding man refuses help

A man with a serious hand wound was uncooperative with police Friday night.

He claimed he was stabbed outside City Pizza on Pandosy Street.

BC Ambulance attended the scene around 11 p.m. and discovered the man had actually been involved in an earlier altercation outside of Social 242 Lounge and Grill on Lawrence, where it's alleged he smashed a beer bottle over another man's head.

According to Cst. Kris Clark the victim, who was smashed on the head, could not be found for questioning.

The man with the hand injury declined help from ambulance attendants and made his own way to the hospital.

He will apparently require surgery to repair a damaged tendon.

Police believe the man's hand injury was actually sustained when he smashed the bottle and not from a knife.

No word on charges at this time.
