Bernard Avenue's final closure

Starting tomorrow, Monday, March 3, at 5 a.m. Bernard Avenue from Ellis to Pandosy streets, including the Pandosy intersection, will be closed for the final phase of the Bernard Avenue revitalization.

The road will be closed to all motorists for utility replacement and streetscaping.

Access to businesses and pedestrian walkways remains a priority during the construction and will be maintained as local businesses rely on continued customer loyalty.

All transit routes into and out of the Queensway transit station will continue, routes serving downtown may experience delays due to detours or traffic congestion.

You can visit bctransit.com/regions/kel/ for schedules and plan travel accordingly.

An amendment to the noise bylaw was granted by City Council to extend allowed construction hours from 6 a.m. to midnight.

The city says occasional work may also occur outside of these times to minimize impacts on businesses and limit the time of active construction in the area.

Completion of the final phase of construction is anticipated for June.

The City of Kelowna appreciates the patience of residents, businesses and motorists while construction is taking place. Visit kelowna.ca/cityprojects to learn more about the project.
