High-rise open house

Developers of a proposed downtown Kelowna boutique hotel and conference centre are taking their message to the public.

Westcorp Development has scheduled a public open house for Wednesday, March 12 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. to unveil plans for the new hotel on the former Willow Inn Hotel site at Queensway and Mill Street.

The open house will be held in the Rotary Centre for the Arts.

Representatives from Westcorp along with their consulting team will be in attendance to answer questions.

Westcorp, owners of the old Willow Inn site , has proposed a hotel which would include 206 hotel rooms the plans also include provisions for 17,000 square feet of conference space, 4,800 square feet of retail space, plus a restaurant and coffee shop adjacent to Kerry Park.

Plans have been submitted to City Hall.

It will likely be three or four months before the proposal reaches city council.
