Jennifer Zielinski and Trevor Rockliffe

5:30 p.m. Update: Traffic is now moving in both directions on Glenmore Rd.

4:55 p.m.: Kelowna fire department officials are asking motorists to avoid Glenmore Road.

A three vehicle crash involving a Mercedes, a truck and a school bus at the intersection of Glenmore and McKinley roads has reduced traffic to one lane on both roads.

Platoon Captain, Dennis Miller says traffic is backing up rapidly. Alternate routes are suggested.

There were three children on the school bus, none of the students were reported to have been injured; parents have been notified.

The accident happened just after 4 p.m.

Injuries to those in the other vehicles involved also appear to be minor. No one was taken to hospital.

According to police on scene the school bus was waiting to turn left onto McKinley Road from Glenmore.

At the same time the black Mercedes was waiting to turn left onto Glenmore from McKinley.

Police says the driver of the Mercedes believed the bus was letting him go, however, the driver didn't see the pickup truck heading south on Glenmore.

The truck collided with the Mercedes, sending both vehicles into the bus.
