Crime in your neighbourhood
Kelowna RCMP have released crime stats for the first week of February 2014 and crime is down in most areas.
The interactive crime map above represents the week from Feb 3, 2014 – Feb 9, 2014 for Kelowna only. However, numbers are provided below for Lake Country and West Kelowna.
For that first week of February, Kelowna saw a positive decline in theft of motor vehicles, motor vehicle break-ins, and theft of bikes. All were below the three year average.
Break and enters of residents and businesses remained within the three-year-average.
However in West Kelowna there was a spike in residential break-ins. Three were reported during that first week of Feb versus the same week in 2013 that only saw one break-in during the same time.
In all other categories in both West Kelowna and Lake Country crime numbers were below or in the low range of the three year average.
