A holiday filled with kindness
A Kelowna family decided to enjoy celebrating Family Day by performing random acts of kindness around town.
The Pucci family spent the afternoon handing out gift bags of candies, cookies and treats to Stuart Park, the Cancer Lodge and UBC Okanagan.
Jill Hotchkiss came up with the afternoon event idea.
“I wanted something simple and fun. We filled two vans and off we went. It was something everyone in our family could participate in.”
Hotchkiss’ parents also took part, as did her three-year-old nephew.
Her sister, teacher Carla Temme at Watson Road Elementary challenged classes at her school do the same with their own families.
Feb 10-16, 2014 marks Random Acts of Kindness Week leading up to Random Acts of Kindness Day on Monday, February 17, 2014.
