Thieves take out laundry in Rutland

The number of break ins at Kelowna apartment buildings seems to be on the rise.

An apartment building on Aurora Crescent in Rutland appears to be one of the latest targets.

Apparently thieves broke into Northern Lights Terrace sometime late last month .

They broke into an office and the laundry.

The thieves were caught on surveillance cameras.

Earlier in the month, crime stats provided by the RCMP indicated several similar break ins occurred in the Lawrence Avenue area – between Centennial Crescent and Kelgler Crescent.

Many of those involved thefts from coin laundries.

“It’s a recent increase that we’ve seen over the last little bit and very likely that it’s one person in particular that’s been committing that one offence, hence the increase we’re seeing," Cst. Kris Clark stated at the time.

Below is the latest crime stats map plotting information from Jan 27 to Feb 2.
