Hot air balloon in distress
There was a bit of excitement in the air on Saturday in Kelowna when a hot air balloon group found itself in distress.
At around 4:15 Bruce Hedmann and his wife noticed the hot air balloon coming in low toward their home. They went outside to find the balloon slowly descending, and unable to gain altitude.
The couple could hear people on board talking as they tried to land in an open field. The descent was apparently too rapid, however, leaving only the option to land in an open area at the intersection of Packers Road and Packers Court.
They missed their mark by about 40 meters and landed on the neighbour's driveway.
