There are several in Vancouver, but it will be the first for the interior of BC when the BCSPCA Thrift Store opens in Kelowna.
Greg Dahms will open the franchise store located directly across the streets from the Kelowna shelter on Casorso road.
Dahms, a past volunteer at SPCA thrift stores in the lower mainland, says his location is already filled with an array of donated items including books, clothing, electronics, furniture, and tools.
"We are now also accepting donations and will be offering a pick-up service in the near future."
The grand opening for the store will take place this Saturday, February 1, with a ribbon cutting by Mayor Walter Gray and Kelowna SPCA Assistant Manager, Cam Buksa at 11 a.m.
"We are so excited to be opening our new store to serve the City of Kelowna and help raise much needed funds for the animals at the BCSPCA," says Dahms.
Donations of clean, good condition items can be dropped off at the store located at 2790 Casorso Rd. during
regular business hours. The store will be open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday to Saturday.
