Trial date set for Westside shooters
Some tentative dates have been set for the trial of three people charged with multiple offences after a high speed chase with police in West Kelowna two years ago.
Ashley Collins, Michael Ellis and Shawn Wysynski each face over one dozen charges ranging from attempted murder to various firearm offences after allegedly shooting at police while racing down Westside Road.
A judge has yet to be assigned, but it’s anticipated the trial itself will begin Sept. 2, 2014 and last for 12 weeks.
There will be a number of voire dire hearings (trial before a trial to discus possible evidence) prior to the trial, with the first one expected to begin May 26 and deal with a statement Collins made to police.
Other hearings will take place in June and July.
