Scooter rider hit crossing highway
An elderly man has been taken to Kelowna General Hospital after he was struck by a vehicle on Highway 33 Wednesday morning.
According to police at the scene the man was attempting to cross the highway at Bryden Road on his scooter when he was hit by the vehicle.
"As far as we know right now an elderly gentleman was trying to cross Hwy 33 on his scooter when a westbound vehicle struck him," says Cst. Lane.
"One of the vehicles stopped and it appears one of the vehicles didn't see the gentleman in the scooter and struck him. It's not a controlled intersection - there is no crosswalk."
The accident remains under investigation.
