Junior chess tournament

Elementary aged students are invited to a Beginner's Luck Chess Tournament.

The event will take place at Springvalley Middle School in Kelowna on Saturday February 1, with games beginning at 10 a.m.

This is a fun first chess tournament open to students in kindergarten to grade 12. The cost is $10. There will be pizza, snacks, and door prizes for everyone.

Tournament directors will ensure your child is paired with students of the same grade or of equal chess ability. There are no chess ratings and results will not be posted.

“We want kids to feel comfortable taking on a new challenge in a new setting with new friends,” says Laurie. “They will likely meet the same players in future competitive events, so it’s nice to play in a less structured fun event.”

Please RSVP to Chris Laurie to confirm your attendance at [email protected]
