Raising $45K, one snip at a time
First Choice Haircutters in Kelowna made a special cheque presentation to the Children’s Wish Foundation for $45,000 recently.
Ross Jeffries, Operations Manager, says, "Earlier in the year, for a whole week First Choice Haircutters donated 50 cents from every haircut they performed as well as collected donations from their clients. Through this effort we were able donate $45,000 to the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada."
Children’s Wish grants the most heartfelt wish to children, between the ages of 3 to 17, coping with a life threatening illness.
The average cost of a wish is $10,000 and the average age of a wish child is 10.
"Children’s Wish has granted more than 19,000 wishes since they began and expects to grant 1,000 new wishes this year.
Children’s Wish grants, on average, three wishes per day – every time you sit down to a meal, a child suffering with a life threatening illness is being granted a wish," says Jeffries.
