Santa attends World Snowboard Day
Big White Ski Resort held its first weekend of night riding in celebration with World Snowboard Day.
Telus Park, along with the Bullet Express and Plaza Chairs, are now open for night riding. To celebrate the opening, Big White held the first Telus Park Night Rail Jam of the season, showcasing local ski and snowboard talent on the park’s custom rail and box set up.
As the final weekend before Christmas, the hill also hosted several Santa-themed events, including photos with Santa and free lift passes for those in costume.
The weekend lined up with World Snowboard Day, which Josh Foster, the Director of Snow Sports at Big White Ski Resort describes as “a worldwide event with lots of excitement happening to celebrate snowboarding culture.”
Big White’s involvement in the event included several mini competitions, featuring their famous “Highest Ollie” contest. Across the globe, World Snowboard Day featured over 100 events in 30 countries with the goal of promoting the sport through a series of free events.
