Free hugs at the Kelowna Sails
For the fourth consecutive year, free hugs will be offered on Boxing Day by the Free Hugs crew.
The loveable and huggable group will be on duty starting at 12 noon, in front of the Kelowna Sails on Water St.
Free Hugs honours the late Wayne Cobb, who died in a motorcycle accident four years ago. His best friend Joey Stychin initiated the Free Hugs movement in his memory.
Terry Cobb says her husband believed in sharing the good things in life, and by offering the simple gesture of a hug they hope to carry on Wayne's spirit.
"Some of the stories that unfold uplift our hearts," said hug-giver Angie Clowry. "Like a man who lost his wife and hadn't received a hug or really felt love since her passing - some of us had a good cry with him. He touched our hearts and we sure touched his."
The Free Hugs crew hope you do something to pay happiness, love and free hugs forward in your own way over the holiday season.
