Vandals target school, elderly couple
Police are looking to identify a group of individuals believed to be responsible for a string of vandalism to school and residential property over the last few months.
Since September 23, 2013, the Kelowna RCMP has received numerous reports of mischief at Springvalley Middle School and a nearby residence on the 1500 block of Carshyl Court.
Specifically, a fire has been set in a garbage can at the school, graffiti painted throughout the neighbourhood and a residential fence repeatedly damaged.
The continuous destruction to the elderly couple's fence has caused them great distress and is now affecting their health.
There is no known reason why this particular residence has been repeatedly targeted.
The fence was damaged yet again on December 4, 2013, leaving the couple completely exasperated.
Fortunately, the Springvalley Middle School's Builder's Club was in the holiday spirit and banded together to repair the devastated elderly couple's property.
Police believe that the suspects have been caught on camera and are asking for help in identifying them.
