More delays for Grossmith case
A trial date has still not been solidified for Conor Grossmith, the man accused of killing his mother last year, and the courts are awaiting yet another psychiatric report on the young man.
At this point in time it’s believed there could be three different outcomes in the proceedings: either Grosssmith is found not criminally responsible due to mental disorder, he was grossly intoxicated at the time of the attack, or the trial will go on as scheduled.
There have already been two psychiatric reports conducted, along with another that found him mentally fit to stand trial. The alcohol issue stems from breath samples taken five hours after the crime was committed, which still found him over three times the legal driving limit.
This new report will be a review based on the information that is already available on file and Grossmith has not been asked to take part at this time.
All parties are optimistic the report will be concluded by the time they meet again on Dec. 16.
