Alberta storms affecting flights
Update 12:30 p.m. - Several flights out of Alberta remain delayed due to snowstorms in that province. Those delays into Kelowna International Airport mean corresponding departures will also be delayed.
Due to the delays both Air Canada and WestJet are waiving their customary flight cancellation fees.
Original Story 8:25 a.m. - A blizzard warning is in effect for much of Central and Southern Alberta, and that is delaying flights into and out of Kelowna.
So far only one departure flight (Flight 8394 to Calgary) is expecting delays -- that one has been pushed back 40 minutes.
On the arrivals side, two morning flights are being affected, including Flight 253 from Calgary and Flight 8408 from Vancouver.
Reports out of Calgary show that WestJet passengers are being offered options to avoid traveling during the storm and can adjust their flights without penalty.
Due to the ever-evolving nature of the storm, it’s best to ensure your flight(s) will be arriving or departing on time.
Air Canada is also offering fee waivers for their flights, and more information can be found here.
