A 16-year-old male has been hit while in the Willow Park Mall crosswalk on Hollywood Road, a block east of Hwy. 33.
RCMP are investigating to see if the crosswalk lights were activated.
The teen was hit by a red mini van with enough force to snap off the side mirror and break its front windshield.
RCMP say the youth was taken away by ambulance with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries. The accident happened at around 8 p.m.
The mother of two young children (aged 3 and 4) who were in the minivan at the time of the incident, says everyone in the van was shaken up, but they are all OK. Her kids were being driven home by their grandmother when the accident happened.
Hollywood Rd. was closed for about an hour while police investigated.
