Update 4:00 p.m.
A 26 year old Kelowna woman remains in custody and police continue to investigate a counterfeit currency seizure last night on High Road in Glenmore.
Tuesday morning Kelowna RCMP responded to suspicious activity around a parked vehicle in the area of High Road and Smithson Crescent in Kelowna.
At that time they seized what they believed is counterfeit currency and arrested the female resident.
That same evening RCMP executed a search warrant on a nearby residence and Items associated with the production of counterfeit currency were also seized.
RCMP are providing no further details at this time.
The 1800 block of High Rd. was once again the focus of police attention last night when RCMP surrounded a rather infamous drug home.
A Castanet reader tells us the police were on the search for counterfeit money.
“They had multiple marked and unmarked police cruisers and uniformed and plain clothed officers," the reader said.
"They were announcing over a loud speaker to the residents of 1850 High Road, ‘This is the police and we have the house surrounded come out the front door with your hands up.’
I saw around a dozen males and females with cuffs on and a couple of them being searched."
The witness lives in the neighbourhood and claims the house has been a constant problem that needs to be addressed.
“There have been numerous complaints filed against the house and numerous raids over the last few years.
This house has to be exposed as it is on a walking route to Glenmore Elementary School.”
Castanet is still awaiting comment from the RCMP, stay tuned for more details.
