UPDATE: 12:40 p.m.
Officials with Canadian Pacific Railway have confirmed one of their trains struck someone on the tracks in Kamloops this morning.
In a brief statement, spokesperson Salem Woodrow said a freight train struck an individual on the tracks on Highland Drive and Highway 1 at approximately 6:30 a.m.
CP Police and RCMP are investigating.
UPDATE: 8:50 a.m.
Mounties have left the tracks.
When KamloopsMatters arrived at the scene, only a CP Police truck was present. The vehicle left shortly after.
The scene is now clear and traffic has returned to normal.
Police haven't released any further information at this time.

Police in Kamloops are saying very little about the discovery of a body on train tracks in the city.
RCMP are only saying they are on the scene of the discovery in Valleyview.
