Arrest in manor arson fire

RCMP have arrested a man for an arson fire at a Kamloops transitional housing project.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the fire was set Tuesday night about 10 p.m. at Mission Flats Manor.

Kamloops Fire and Rescue brought in police when it appeared the fire had been purposely set in one of the rooms at the site on Mission Flats Road.  

Surveillance video showed a male in the area of the fire just minutes before the fire alarm was activated.  The 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
