5A open following crash

Two pick-up trucks collided on Highway 5A near Rogers Way in Kamloops sending debris flying off hitting another pick-up truck.

It happened around 8 a.m. The Driver of a southbound pick-up truck lost control on black ice and crossed the centre line, hitting a northbound pick-up. A piece of flying debris from the collision hit another truck which was behind the northbound truck involved in the crash.

RCMP say that there was extensive damage done to both pick-ups.

Three people were taken to Royal Inland Hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.  A fourth person, in the third vehicle hit by debris, was checked on scene by paramedics.

Both trucks were towed from the scene and the road is now open.

RCMP remind motorists that driving conditions are very treacherous and to please slow down.
