Kamloops teen stabbed

A Kamloops teen is in hospital after being stabbed Friday night.

RCMP Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk said on Feb. 2, at approximately 10 p.m., police responded to a disturbance in the Monarch Court area of Kamloops.

“A large party of youths were reported to be gathered and possibly fighting in the area. Further calls indicated that an individual may have been stabbed,” said Buliziuk.

Police found a 17-year-old male who was suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound. The male victim was immediately admitted to hospital in serious condition.

“Information obtained throughout the investigation supported the arrest of a suspect at the scene of the incident. A 17-year-old male is in RCMP custody and will be appearing before the courts later today,” said Buliziuk.
