Another cyclist has been struck by a vehicle, this one in Kamloops.
The latest incident in the Kamloops area at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday night. A cyclist was hit while crossing the East TransCanada Highway at Vicars Road.
According to witnesses and the driver of the semi-tractor trailer that hit the cyclist, the tractor-trailer was travelling eastbound through a green light at Vicars Road. The cyclist crossed on a red light across the westbound lanes and into the eastbound lane where he was struck. The cyclist was not wearing a helmet.
The 42-year-old male cyclist was transported to Royal Inland Hospital with serious injuries.
RCMP advise people to use extra caution during winter driving conditions and that includes cyclists.
