More gunfire in Kamloops

There has been more gunplay in Kamloops.

RCMP are investigating an incident Saturday morning in which shots were fired, injuring a tenant of an apartment building at 805 Holt St.

Police said at 10:15 a.m., a 24-year-old man reported being struck by a bullet.

“Police secured the area and established containment of one suspect apartment. A 45-year-old male and a 41-year-old female were taken into custody by police and are co-operating with the investigation,” said Staff Sgt. Michel Grondin.

The victim was treated at Royal Inland Hospital and released.

Police have not said if the shooting was targeted.

The incident is the latest in a spate of shootings that left one person dead and several injured.

On Sept. 20, One man was shot dead while another was rushed to hospital after a shooting in South Kamloops Thursday night. 

Several people reported hearing gunshots at about 7:20 p.m. on Hudson's Bay Trail, a residential road. When police arrived, they found a man dead outside of a home, and another suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound.

On Oct. 23, two men were found near near Nelson Avenue on the North Shore at around noon with gunshot injuries.

Police believe the shooting incident happened at 217 Nelson Avenue, a residence well known to police.

On Oct. 27 a Kamloops man exchanged gunfire with police and barricaded himself in a trailer, leading to a standoff that lasted several hours.

Shane William Caron, faces four attempted murder charges while other charges are pending, police said.
