Pickup goes airborne

A pickup truck went airborne in a spectacular crash in Kamloops, Thursday.

About 2:15 p.m., RCMP responded to the scene at Highway 5A and Rogers Way.  

The driver had accelerated out of a PetroCan gas station, went through a ditch and some trees, launching off the other side before coming to rest on the northbound lane of the highway below. 

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The driver, sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained a head injury and was taken to Royal Inland Hospital.

The incident is under investigation.
