Toby Keith to rock Merritt

Merritt's Rockin' River Music Festival has only just wrapped up, but organizers are already announcing next year's headliner.

Toby Keith, one of country music's biggest stars, will perform at the August long weekend festival, which runs Aug 3-6, 2017.
 
Festival president Kenny Hess made the announcement on the main stage as the festival wrapped up this weekend.

"The Rockin’ River family is thrilled to announce that everyone’s favorite country star Toby Keith will be standing right here next year!" he said to cheers from the crowd. "We can’t thank everyone enough for all their support and we are beyond ready to get next year’s party started.”

Keith is Billboard Music's country artist of the decade.
 
His two-decade career has spawned chart-topping hits such as: Red Solo Cup, Beer For My Horses, How Do You Like Me Now? and I love this Bar. 

He has charted 61 singles on the Billboard Hot Country charts, including 20 No. 1 hits and 21 additional top 10 hits. Keith’s albums Pull my Chain, Unleashed, and Shock’n Y’all have all been certified four times platinum.
 
The annual festival takes place along the Coldwater River, featuring three stages and more than 20 performers.
