Expected to seek bail

Charged with attempted murder after an altercation that left a Savona teen on life support, Kristopher Teichrieb is expected to appear in court Thursday, June 23, seeking bail.

Jessie Simpson, 18, remains in RIH in a coma with his family at his side and, at last word, is not expected to survive.

On a GoFundMe page set up by a neighbour in support of the family, Jessie’s uncle said his nephew has been declared brain dead. He said they are awaiting the arrival of Jessie’s brother from Royal Military College in Nova Scotia before taking the teen off life support. His mother has requested no further hospital visits other than by family.

Jessie was reportedly leaving a grad party when the incident took place early Sunday. Teichrieb, 39, told police he looked out his window at 4:50 a.m. and saw the teen in his driveway. Somehow — details have not been released by police — the teen wound up with multiple skull fractures. Teichrieb was arrested and has been in custody since Sunday.

Police continue their investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the altercation on Holt Street in Brocklehurst is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828- 3000.
