Violent early-morning fight

A fight between two men in Kamloops has landed one of them in hospital and the other in a jail cell.

According to police, at approximately 4:50 a.m. Sunday morning a home owner looked out his window and saw a man in his driveway.

“The home owner approached the male and an altercation ensued,” explains Cpl. Jodi Shelkie.

“The male who was allegedly in the home owner’s driveway suffered serious life-threatening injuries. He is currently in Royal Inland Hospital.”

Shelkie says RCMP were alerted to the assault in progress in the North Shore neighbourhood, on Holt Street. Police arrived and arrested the 39-year-old home owner.

“He is currently in custody and facing charges. He was not previously known to police,” says Shelkie.

The investigation is ongoing and RCMP are asking anyone who may have witnessed the altercation on to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
