Cyclist struck, taken to hospital

A cyclist has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle Monday morning in Kamloops.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Desmond Street and Tranquille Road.

Officers responding to the scene found the cyclist in need to medical attention and the person was transported to Royal Inland Hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries.

Police say the motorist was found at fault, and was issued a ticket for failing to yield.
