Threatened with a crossbow
One man is in custody after an attempted robbery in Kamloops this morning.
Police were called to the Powderkeg Shooters' Supply store on Tranquille Road just after 9 a.m.
They say a man entered the store and pointed a crossbow at an employee, demanding the clerk give him a gun. The suspect eventually ran from the store without any firearms and left in a vehicle.
While police were searching for the suspect, a 31-year-old man turned himself into the RCMP detachment on Battle Street and claimed responsibility for the robbery.
Officers have since recovered both the crossbow and the vehicle involved in the robbery.
Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
