Collision kills one

A motorcyclist is dead following a collision with a pick-up truck in the in the 300 block of Victoria Street West, Kamloops.

At around 8 p.m. Sunday west-bound pickup truck collided head-on with an east-bound motorcycle, causing significant damage to both vehicles. The 32-year-old male operator of the motorcycle was taken to Royal Inland Hospital by BC Ambulance Services, and eventually passed away as a result of trauma suffered in this collision.

The 53-year-old male driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and was treated by BC Ambulance Services on scene. It was reported earlier that this might have been a hit and run, but that is not the case.

The RCMP continue to investigate the cause of this collision, and seek the assistance of any person who may have witnessed the incident or the events preceding the collision.
