Deadly train accident

One person is dead and another was taken to hospital after they were hit by a CP train on Wednesday in Kamloops. The incident happened just before midnight.

The accident occurred in Valleyview, at the intersection of the East Trans Canada Highway and Comazzetto Road.  A 22-year-old male suffered superficial injuries and was taken to RIH for medical attention.  The other man, a 49-year-old, died at the scene.

The deceased was known to the police and recently released from KRCC.  BC Coroner’s office and CP Police continue to investigate the incident.  It appears to be an accident and not a suicide, with the two males walking along the railroad tracks.
