Remains of girl identified

Kamloops Serious Crime Unit, in conjunction with the BC Coroner Service, has positively identified the skeletal remains found on June 1, 2014 as that of missing person, Samantha Paul, of Kamloops.

Paul was reported missing to the Kamloops RCMP in September 2013 and an extensive investigation was undertaken from the onset.  Dozens of leads were followed up, however, her disappearance was not resolved.  With the positive identification the Kamloops Serious Crime Unit is intensifying its investigation into the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death.

The investigation is progressing and at this time foul play has not been ruled out. An extensive search is underway in the area where the remains were located in effort to gather further evidence.

Kamloops RCMP is asking the local residents in the Campbell Lake and White Lake areas if they can remember anything that seemed suspicious or out of place during the time following Samantha’s disappearance in September of 2013. There may be a small detail out there that could prove valuable in this investigation.

Anyone with information relating to the disappearance of Samantha Paul please call the Kamloops detachment at 250-828-3000.
