Fatal crash near Paul Lake

A 27-year-old male is dead after a single vehicle crash on the Pinantan - Pritchard Road.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Kamloops Rural and City RCMP responded to a single vehicle roll-over in the 1500 block, about 3 km. north east of the turn off to Paul Lake.

Preliminary investigation reveals a west bound vehicle with five occupants lost control in a set of curves, speed is believed to be a contributing factor.

The male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining four occupants, including the 45-year-old female driver, were transported to Royal Inland Hospital.

The investigation into the accident continues with the assistance of a Traffic Analyst, Kamloops City Traffic Unit, Central Interior District Traffic Services and the BC Coroners Service.

The Pinantan Pritchard Road remains closed to all traffic in both directions while the investigation continues.  An alternate travel route to access the area is via Pritchard.
