Human remains found

Update -- June 3

An initial investigation of the scene, located in a remote area southeast of Kamloops, turned up nothing suspicious.

The Kamloops Serious Crime Unit and Rural RCMP will continue to work with the BC Coroner’s Service to identify the skull found by a couple of ATV’ers on Sunday.

Once an identity has been established, if will be determined whether a further investigation is needed.

Kamloops RCMP are investigating the discovery of human remains.

The discovery was made by people riding their ATV's Sunday evening.

Police are currently at the location, which is in the White Lake area, southeast of Kamloops.

Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit are at the scene and will work with the Coroner Service to do a scene examination and recovery of the remains.

This investigation is in its very early stages and there are no further details at this time.
