Small oil spill in Shuswap
A small oil spill was discovered in Shuswap Lake on Thursday.
On May 29, Salmon Arm public works and fire department responded to a call of an oily substance making its way into Shuswap Lake.
The spill was located west of Marine Park Drive and had a pungent odour, similar to diesel or solvent.
Responding crews were able to clean up the oily substance with absorbent material - the flow is now reported to be clear and free from any substance.
Responders did not report any damage to wildlife or birds within the spill area.
Investigators have not been able to determine the source or how it entered Salmon Arm's storm drain system.
