Stabbing near riverbank

Police are looking for a man believed to be in his mid 20’s who stabbed another man Wednesday afternoon on Tranquille Road.

It happened around 5 p.m. at the edge of the river. A man entered a tent area on the riverbank to speak with a woman he knew, when the other man stabbed him and ran away.

Kamloops RCMP say the victim suffered a non-life-threatening wound to his abdomen and was taken to Royal Inland Hospital.

A police dog was unable to track the suspect, but is described as heavy set with brown curly hair and wearing a blue shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
