Passerby finds body

Just before 1 a.m. on Saturday Kamloops RCMP were called to investigate after a passerby observed a man lying under a tarp in the area of Schubert drive near Fort avenue, Kamloops.

The passerby attempted to wake the man, who was in a make shift camp along the bike path adjacent to Schubert drive, and confirm he was okay, but the male remained motionless.

Both Police and Emergency Health Services attended and it was confirmed the man was deceased.

Police identified the deceased as a 56-year-old man with connections to Kamloops, but until next of kin have been notified his name is not being released.

The BC Coroner service attended and have taken over the investigation as there was nothing suspicious noted and it is believed the man died of natural causes.
