Highway 5 re-opens
UPDATE 4 P.M. - Highway 5 has now re-opened.
Highway 5 is closed southbound north of Kamloops after a logging truck lost its load this morning.
The southbound lanes are closed five kilometres north of Exit 374, near the East Kamloops Junction with Highway 1.
RCMP Sgt. Aird says they are still attempting to clear the load of logs dumped at the intersection of Halston and Hwy. 5 from this morning.
The public is asked to avoid that route if possible.
A portion of the road is shut down, and traffic is being re-routed, therefore it is slow in all directions of travel through that area.
A detour is available via Chief Louis Way.
The road is estimated to reopen at 4 p.m.
