Semi crashes into rock wall
Two men have been taken to hospital in Kamloops after a single vehicle accident near Chase early this morning.
A tractor-trailer rig went off the road at around 2:30 a.m., striking a rock face and bursting into flames on Highway 1 at the Squilax-Anglemont Road intersection.
According to Cst. Brandon Brett of the Chase RCMP detachment, the driver and his passenger were able to escape with minor injuries.
Little Shuswap Lake Indian Band Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire, and Hwy. 1 was reduced to single lane alternating traffic for about three hours. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be involved, and the cause of the collision is under investigation.
