Drug house raided near school
A 42-year-old Kamloops man is in custody after police raided his home in the 300 block of Chestnut Avenue Friday afternoon.
The man was not home at the time of the raid, but he was arrested away from his home.
Inside the home, members of the Targeted Enforcement Unit seized a loaded sawed-off rifle which had been reported stolen in 2013.
Also discovered was a revolver, ammunition, a taser, small amounts of heroin, crystal meth, drug packaging supplies and drug trafficking items.
Upon his arrest the man was also found to be in possession of several ounces of illicit drugs.
The suspect faces several firearms and drug related charges under the Criminal Code.
According to police residents in the area of the home have expressed concerns about the address and have been diligent in reporting criminal and drug activity.
The investigation is ongoing.
