RCMP search for smash & grab thieves

Kamloops RCMP were busy during the night tracking down suspect(s) involved in several business break-ins.

The RCMP were alerted to problems at four businesses early Friday morning by the activation of intrusion alarms.

In all four cases the suspect(s) pried open doors to gain access to the business, searched and left before police arrived. Store owners are still trying to determined what was stolen, but money seemed to be the primary target.

Police are following up with forensic evidence including fingerprints and obtaining video evidence and did locate break in tools at one the businesses that the thieves had been using and left behind.

There are similarities with the nature of the break ins that would suggest that the same suspect or suspects were involved in all of them. The investigation is ongoing and police say they have good leads to pursue.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or crimestoppers 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
Business affected are:

  • General Grants Bottle Dept  Columbia Street
  • Colour Your World on Dalhousie Drive
  • Value Village on Seymour Street
  • Golfland on Valleyview Drive
