Columbia St. reconstruction open house

Columbia Street has been identified for reconstruction in 2015.

The current plan involves widening Columbia Street between 3rd Avenue and 6th Avenue to provide designated left turn lanes and new traffic signal infrastructure for the corridor.

In addition, the project also includes the closure of the left turn on Columbia Street at 2nd Avenue.

The proposed road reconstruction plan will encompass structural road repairs, curbs, paving, addition of the left turns (widening), street lighting, sidewalks, bus stop enhancements, and medians.

The project may also incorporate the rehabilitation of Columbia Street from 6th Avenue to 12th Avenue.

The City invites residents to a public meeting regarding this project on:

  • Wednesday, February 5th, 2014
  • 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Sandman Hotel Meeting Room
  • 550 Columbia Street

There will be a brief presentation of the project details beginning at 6:15 p.m., followed by informal viewing of the project display boards.

City staff welcomes your input on the proposed Columbia Street Reconstruction Project.

Your feedback will be considered during the finalization of the plan. Information about the project will be made available at the public meeting, and City staff will be on hand to answer questions.
