Here and there

Sparkling Hill Resort and Wellness Hotel situated high on a pinnacle above Okanagan Lake, has launched its marketing plan and website. As well, there is word that the project is right on schedule with an opening of March, 2010.

Where other developers are canceling projects or scaling back on details, the experienced team behind Sparkling Hill Resort is confidently moving forward with construction continuing at an accelerated pace with two shifts working on the hotel development six days a week.

The vision for this architecturally stunning resort has not wavered on design or the quality of craftsmanship. Concrete pouring is nearing completion, enabling the exterior design to take shape. Framing is well underway with windows to be placed in the near future to seal the weather out so the Swarovski Crystal design elements can take shape in the
guest rooms, restaurants, meeting rooms and wellness areas of the resort.

Sparkling Hill Resort will be the first hotel in North America to incorporate dazzling Swarovski Crystal elements into every aspect of its design. With the construction of the resort on schedule the marketing and branding have become the priority.

At the heart of the resort are wellness and the tag line - Whole Body Wellness is more than a motto, it is a philosophy. Guests will be encouraged to explore all means to a better level of health from walking in the fresh air on the acres of private trails to dining on organic choices
in the restaurants. Then there is the opportunity to experience any of the extensive treatments offered at the wellness resort to enhance and promote a lifestyle celebrating whole body wellness.

The freshly launched website was created by the expert team at Traction Creative in Vancouver and its easy maneuverability will take the stress out of searching for information on reservations, spa treatments, activities and dining options.

Sparkling Hill Resort will be ready to present to the world in March of 2010. By launching the new brand and website now, we have started to bring the world closer.”

The Interior Savings Fat Cat Children’s Festival is back for the 19th year with fantastic, phenomenal experiences and high-calibre performances for kids of all ages. Featuring three stages of entertainment, street performers and interactive activity stations, Waterfront Park will be a roaring hub of family fun June 12 & 13th as “Everybody Wants to be a Cat”.

“This year’s performers are again top notch and feature the global sounds of Kutapira, a five-piece marimba and percussion group from Vancouver, the high-flying antics of Flyin’ Bob, tight rope walker extraordinaire and the much anticipated return of Dan the Balloon Man,” announced Dorothee Birker, Artistic Director for the Interior Savings Fat Cat Children’s Festival.

“Audiences will love the energy and vibrant music of Kutapira, laugh and scream with Flyin’ Bob and the three-ring circus in his mind, and be amazed at the balloon sculptures of Dan the Balloon Man. We had so many phone calls after last year’s Festival asking about who the balloon artist was, I just knew we needed to bring him back and include his stage show on the schedule.”

“We’ve also stayed true to our roots by providing a showcase opportunity for up and coming local performers on the Community Stage and the Wentworth All Stars on the Island Stage,” continued Birker. “We have more buy-in from the Community with even more activity stations and interactive workshops for festival goers to experience adventures and art forms all day long.”

Tickets to the Festival are now on sale at all Interior Savings branches and go directly towards producing the Festival. Early Bird Family Passes are $10 for 4 people. Gate Admission will be $5 per person and $15/family. All admission proceeds go directly to produce the Festival.

“We are really pleased with the growth of the Interior Savings Fat Cat Children’s Festival,” said Jenelle Turpin, Chair of the Children’s Festival Society of Kelowna that produces the Festival. “We have had a great response this year: the Friday School Day will have school children from Lake Country to West Kelowna coming for a day of learning fun the Parade in Downtown Kelowna is growing with more participants really dressing up their floats and of course our Community Day is such a tremendous day of family fun with a second generation of Fat Cat Festival kids coming with their parents and grand parents.”

The Interior Savings Fat Cat Children’s Festival is an annual interactive Festival for the whole family to enjoy and experience. The Festival takes place June 12 & 13 in Waterfront Park while the Parade starts at 10 am on Bernard & Richter before wending its way to the Park on Saturday, June 13th.
